In this podcast/yap/drawing session I am about to share with you my thoughts about art, the art industry, creativity, everything I know about being an artist and the whole artsy journey of life - all while drawing something.

Hi, my name is Alexandra, aka The Artmother and I am an artist, illustrator and online educator. I am originally an art teacher and I found myself in the online course industry in 2017 - since then I have reached over 100K students worldwide, published over 60 online classes and worked with brands like Procreate, Paperlike, Skillshare and more.

So, just grab your sketchbook or iPad and let's just spend some creative time together! In every episode I am choosing a topic and tell you my personal experiences and thoughts about them.

In this episode "Why Do We Do Art?" I thought it would be great to tell you my story, where I am from, what my relationship to art is, how did I start making online courses and what I think about the purpose of art.

I am also going to draw during the process - without any prompt. What I usually do is that I start with a basic geometric shape - I chose a circle this time - and I just let things flow. The "homework" for this episode for you is to do the same - choose a basic geometric shape and just let your creativity make anything. No pressure, no perfectionism, no performance!
